Vision & Mission

The Cognitive neuroimaging centre’s (CoNiC) mission’s objective is to serve as a platform for functional & structural mapping of brain mechanisms of maturation and ageing, learning and cognition for neuroimaging research.

The Cognitive neuroimaging centre’s (CoNiC) mission objective is to serve as a platform for functional & structural mapping of brain mechanisms of maturation and ageing, learning and cognition for neuroimaging research.

Research questions pertaining to brain structure & function are investigated using multi modal approach. Overall, CoNiC focus on research in the fields of basic neuroscience and neurobiology, structural & functional biomarkers and development of early biomarker probes and early interventional approaches in neurological and mental health disorders. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technologies Viz., 3T Siemens Prisma Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanner, Elekta Triux Magnetoencephalography (MEG). To facilitate complementary research program, other imaging technologies viz., Electroencephalography (EEG), Optical coherence tomography (OCT), Transcranial magnetic simulation (TMS), Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) are in the process of procurement.

This centre also serves the purpose for the cognitive & functional imaging researchers in Nanyang Technological University (NTU) which includes the Humanities and Business schools in NTU. For the Engineering, Life Science and SPMS schools it will serve the purpose of methods and development like coil development, engineering aspects, image processing and other advanced research in Imaging.
